How to Blog

Overview:

During the course of your Workplace Learning Experience, you will reflect on what you are doing and learning through the medium of a weekly online blog. Thoughtful reflection is not only a key aspect of the experience but also a way for you to show that you are making the most of this privilege.

You will post 10 entries in total

Your weekly blog entry is due by the start of Academic Seminar on Monday.

Setting up your Blog Account:

We will be using www.weebly.com, which is BY FAR the easiest way to set up and use.

Below are step-by-step instructions on how to create a blog on weebly.

  1. 1.Begin by opening a new window in your browser; that way you will be able to view and follow these instructions at the same time.

  2. 2.In the new window you have opened, go to www.weebly.com.

  3. 3.Username:  firstname_lastname (just like your impact email)

         Password:  •••••• (the same one you use for impact email)

         Email: firstname_lastname@es-impact.org (your impact email)

         Check “Accept terms” and click the orange sign up button.      

         It should look something like this:

                                             
          
  1. 4.Next, give your blog a title: The title of your blog should be:

        Firstname Lastname WLE Blog

        It should look something like this:

                              


        Then, pick EDUCATION.

        Then, pick CLASS PROJECT. Then click the orange continue button.


  1. 5.CLick the TOP BOX (Use a subdomain of weebly.com)  

  2. 6.type in your first and last name in the box.  If a green checkmark pops up, WRITE DOWN the entire web address and give it to your Academic Seminar Teacher. This is VERY important!

        If it’s not available, add in your middle initial.

  1. 7.Now follow the directions that pop up on the screen.

  2. 8.You will always use “Paragraph with Title.” It looks like this:

                                                                                    

  1. 9.Your blog should look like this:  Click Publish when you’re done! When you have finished, let your A.S. Teacher know so he or she can grade your work and can record the web address of your blog.

  1. 10.How to log back in to add more blog entries:  Go to www.weebly.com and log in. Use the UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER.

  1. 11.To add another blog entry, click on the “edit site” link:
